Recipe of Shakshuka

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsps olive oil
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground paprika
  • ½ tsp ground cayenne pepper
  • 1 can (400 grams) crushed tomatoes
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 4-6 large eggs
  • fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions:

  • Heat the SENSARTE Nonstick Frying Pan Skillet or Deep Frying Pan over medium heat and add the olive oil.
  • Sauté the onion and red bell pepper until they start to soften, about 5 minutes.
  • Add the minced garlic, cumin, paprika, and cayenne pepper, and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  • Pour in the crushed tomatoes and season with salt and pepper. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.
  • Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for about 10 minutes until it thickens slightly.
  • Create small wells in the sauce with a spoon and carefully crack the eggs into each well.
  • Cover the pan and cook for about 5-8 minutes, or until the eggs are cooked to your desired level of doneness.
  • Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley.
  • Serve the Shakshuka directly from the SENSARTE Nonstick Frying Pan Skillet or Deep Frying Pan, accompanied by crusty bread or pita for dipping. Enjoy!
