Recipe of Shakshuka
Ingredients:
- 2 tbsps olive oil
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground paprika
- ½ tsp ground cayenne pepper
- 1 can (400 grams) crushed tomatoes
- salt and pepper to taste
- 4-6 large eggs
- fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
Instructions:
- Heat the SENSARTE Nonstick Frying Pan Skillet or Deep Frying Pan over medium heat and add the olive oil.
- Sauté the onion and red bell pepper until they start to soften, about 5 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic, cumin, paprika, and cayenne pepper, and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the crushed tomatoes and season with salt and pepper. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.
- Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for about 10 minutes until it thickens slightly.
- Create small wells in the sauce with a spoon and carefully crack the eggs into each well.
- Cover the pan and cook for about 5-8 minutes, or until the eggs are cooked to your desired level of doneness.
- Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley.
- Serve the Shakshuka directly from the SENSARTE Nonstick Frying Pan Skillet or Deep Frying Pan, accompanied by crusty bread or pita for dipping. Enjoy!
