Recipe of Homemade Cornbread
Ingredients:
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- ½ tsp sea salt
- 1 cup whole milk/buttermilk
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- ¼ cup vegetable oil
- ½ cup corn kernels (optional)
- ¼ cup honey (optional)
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and sea salt. Mix well to ensure all dry ingredients are evenly distributed.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the milk, melted butter, and eggs until smooth and well combined.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix. If using, gently fold in the corn kernels and honey to the batter.
- Place your SENSARTE Nonstick Deep Frying Pan over medium heat. Add the vegetable oil and let it heat up for a couple of minutes.
- Pour the batter into the heated pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
- Reduce the heat to low and cover the pan with a lid. Cook for about 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Once the cornbread is cooked through, remove the pan from the heat. Let the cornbread cool in the pan for a few minutes before slicing.
- Serve warm with butter, honey, or your favorite spread. Enjoy!
